The role holder will be required to:
- Review and interpret consultation papers, implementing measures and other emerging developments
- Identify processes and methodologies that meet Solvency II requirements in conjunction with actuarial reporting stakeholders
- Provide Solvency II expertise to the Actuarial Systems Transformation (“AST”) project to ensure that the new model developments incorporate the requirements of Solvency II
- Provide Solvency II expertise to the Actuarial Reporting team in general compliance issues
- Determine the scope of work required to attain Solvency II standards (both internal model and standard formula) using current systems/processes
- Support the development of a detailed implementation plan, in line with the internal model submission for approval and the AST project, which ensures Solvency II compliance at the appropriate key milestone dates
- Guide the overall embedding of new Solvency II-compliant processes and methodologies into BAU
- Liase with Solvency II workstreams to discuss and challenge requirements as required
Candidates
- Qualified Actuary with appropriate post-qualification experience
- Detailed understanding of current Solvency II requirements, or a good understanding and the ability to get up to speed quickly;
- Understanding of key requirements and processes for Life business, supported by experience of working in or with reporting teams;
- Has experience in Pillar 2 Reporting (ICA) of both With-Profit and Non-Profit business
- Has a significant understanding of the Solvency II framework
- Methodical and applies attention to detail - ability to convert Solvency II principles into detailed requirements
- Proactive, flexible and adaptable
- Experience working within a project environment & working to project deadlines
- Has good verbal and written communication skills, experience of communicating complex issues to a diverse audience
- Works well within a team and also individually
- Open minded and is open to their views being challenged
